Japanese Leopard Shark

This is a healthy Japanese Leopard Shark. (Banded Hound Shark/Triakis scyllium) Sizes will vary. Typical sizes range from 8 - 18 inches.

The Banded Houndshark (Triakis Scyllium) is a species of Hound Shark found common in the northwestern Pacific from the southern Russian to Taiwan. Found on or near the bottom, it favors shallow coastal habitats with sandy or vegetated bottoms. This shark reaches 1.5 m (4.9 ft) in length. It has a short, rounded snout and mostly narrow fins. It is gray above and lighter below; younger sharks have darker saddles and small dots, which fade with age. Japanese Leopard Sharks feed off of crabs, squid, shrimp, clams. It is recommended to use cleaned squid for feeding.

Salinity: 1.020 to 1.023

Size tank/pond: 500 gallon+ or large pond

Diet: Crabs, Shrimp, Squid, and Clams

Somewhat Aggressive

To all shark lovers, you don't need to look else where. Jeremy is the most knowledgeable sharks/rays dealer I know of. His services and communications are excellent. He ensure his fishes are stable before shipping them out. I will definitely buy my next hounds and bat rays from Jeremy again.

I love this shark!! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it’s so young right now and he’s doing a little too much vertical swimming. Other than than I absolutely love him! (After doing business with Jeremy and sharkandreef I won’t buy fish from anyone else!!)

Jeremy is the best I have ever delt with. He is a true professional and puts the health of the animals first, and it shows. The banded shark that I ordered from him was perfect. Within 4 hours of him going into my tank he was eating. Swimming totally stress free and very active. I highly recommend for your purchases. Especially with sharks. I cannot wait to order my next one when they are in stock. A great addition to my other sharks.
