The black/brown banded cat shark requires very small pieces of food when born. It is recommended to cut the pieces small enough to fit in the mouth. They will become aggressive when they grow, and will eat anything small enough to fit in their mouth.

When the eggs are in possession, they should be kept submerged at all times. If air bubbles are present in the egg for any reason, they can be expelled by turning the egg upright and then gently tap the ends. This will allow the egg to sink at the bottom of the tank. If the yoke sac is gone completely the shark can be removed from the egg if needed. If the shark cannot force it's way out it is mandatory to remove it manually.
